The TPS5140 is a DC/DC controller integrated into a chip to drive the voltage rail, and the peripheral components require three synchronous, asynchronous buck controllers and a 12-V boost converter. On-chip high-side and low-side synchronous rectifier drivers are integrated into the driver's cheaper N-channel power MOSFETs. The asynchronous boost converter includes N-channel power MOSFETs and supports a 120 mA PCMCIA power supply. Independently controlled output and synchronous buck controller, two operations with reduced input current ripple, allowing a smaller input capacitance to reduce power supply costs by one-third of the phase 180 degrees. For high load conditions, all efficiency TPS5140 automatically adjust the PWM mode for each channel with a jump mode independently.
