The TPS51427 is a dual-channel synchronous buck controller designed for notebook and mobile communication applications. This device is part of a notebook power bus regulation low-cost kit that enables low external component count. The TPS51427 includes two pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers, SMPS1 and SMPS2. The SMPS1 output can be adjusted from 0.7 V to 5.9 V, while the SMPS2 output can be adjusted from 0.5 V to 2.5 V, and the device also features a low dropout (LDO) regulator that provides a 5-V/3.3-V output, or an adjustable output from 0.7 V to 4.5 V via LDOREFIN. Fixed frequency analog adaptive turn-on time control reduces operating frequency under high load conditions that support seamless operation between high efficiency drops to light-load mA range PWM modes.
