The TPS5401 device is a 42 volt, 0.5-A, step-down, regulator with an integrated high-side MOSFET. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A pulse-skipping mode with low ripple regulates the output voltage at no load with a supply current of 116μA. Using the Enable pin, the shutdown supply current is reduced to 1.3μA when the enable pin is low.

Undervoltage lockout is internally set to 2.5 volts, but an enable pin can be added. The output voltage-start ramp controls the slow-start pin, which can also be used in sequencing/tracking configurations. The open-drain power good signal indicates that the output is rated at 94% to 107%.
