The TPS54140 features Eco-Mode's 3.5V to 42V input, 1.5A buck converter

The TPS54140 device is 42V at 1.5A, down with an integrated high-side MOSFET regulator. Current mode control provides simple external compensation and flexible component selection. A low ripple, pulse-skipping mode reduces no-load and regulates 116μA of output supply current. Using the Enable pin, the shutdown supply current is reduced to 1.3μA.

Undervoltage lockout is internally set to 2.5V, but an enable pin can be added. The output voltage-start ramp controls the slow-start pin, which can also be used in sequencing/tracking configurations. Open-drain power supplies output a good signal indicating a voltage rating of 93% to 107%.

The wide switching frequency range allows efficiency and external component size to be optimized.
