As a member of the DC/DC regulator SWIFT family, TPS5420 is a high-output current PWM converter integrating a low-impedance, high-sided N-channel MOSFET. The listed functions and substrate are high-performance voltage error amplifiers that achieve transient voltage regulation accuracy under strict conditions, a low-voltage locking circuit to prevent startup until the input voltage reaches 5.5 volts, an internal slow-start circuit to limit surge current, and a voltage feedforward circuit to improve transient response. Using the ENA's pins, the shutdown current drops to 18μA, which is typical. Other features include an active high start, overcurrent limit, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown.
