As a member of SWIFT's ™ family of DC/DC regulators, TPS5430 is a high output current pulse-width modulation (PWM) converter that integrates low-impedance high-side N-channel MOSFETs. Features listed with the substrate include a high-performance voltage error amplifier that achieves transient voltage regulation accuracy under tight conditions, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) circuitry to prevent start-up until the input voltage reaches 5.5 volts, internal slow-start circuitry to limit inrush current, and voltage feed-forward circuitry to improve transient response. Using the enable system (ENA) pin, the shutdown supply current drops to 18μA typically. Other features include an active high start, overcurrent limit, overvoltage protection (OVP), and thermal shutdown.
