As a family member of the DC/DC regulated SWIFT, the TPS54310 low input voltage high output current synchronous buck PWM converter integrates all the necessary active ingredients. Features listed with the substrate include a true, high-performance, voltage-error amplifier that implements undervoltage lockout circuitry under transient conditions to prevent start-up until high input voltage performance reaches 3 volts, an internal and external slow-motion setup start-up circuit to limit inrush current, a power good output processor/logic reset useful, fault signaling, and power sequencing.

The TPS54310 device is available in a thermally enhanced 20-pin TSSOP (public service) PowerPAD™ package, eliminating bulky heat sinks.
