The TPS6020x boost, regulated charge pump generates an input voltage of 3.6 V from 1.8 V to 3.3 V to ± 4% of the output voltage. These devices are typically operated by two alkaline batteries, NiCd, NiMH and a minimum supply voltage of 2 V input and a minimum of 100 mA for continuous output current. Only four external capacitors are required to build a complete low ripple DC/DC converter. The push-pull's two single-ended charge pump modes of operation guarantee low output voltage ripple as it is constantly shifting to the output.

These devices operate in the newly developed LinSkip mode. In this mode of operation, the device switches seamlessly from the savings pulse-skipping mode at a light load, low-noise constant frequency, and the linearly regulated mode once the output current exceeds the LinSkip minimum power of approximately 7 mA.
