TPS60243 A 170 uVrms zero-ripple switched capacitor boost converter with a fixed 3V output for VCO power supplies

The TPS6024x is a switching capacitive voltage converter that is ideal for VCO and PLL applications that require low noise and tight tolerance fits. Its dual-cover design uses four ceramic capacitors and also provides ultra-low output ripple high efficiency while eliminating the need for inefficient linear regulators.

The wide input supply voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.5 V makes the TPS6024x ideal for lithium-based battery applications. The TPS60240/2/3 operates as low as 1.8 V and supports a 3.3 volt, 2.7 volt, 3 V output by two cells, nickel or alkaline chemicals. These devices work equally well for DC/DC boost conversion with low EMI, without the need for an inductor. The high switching frequency (160 kHz typical) promotes small surface mount capacitors, saving board space.
