The TPS6102x boost device provides a power solution for products powered by a single-cell, two- or three-cell alkaline, NiCd or NiMH battery, or a single-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer battery. The output current can be as high as 200 mA, while using a single alkaline battery and releasing it to 0.9 five, it can also be used at 500 mAh to produce 5 V from 3.3-V to a train or a lithium-ion battery. The boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller using a synchronous rectifier for maximum benefit. The low-load current converter enters power-down mode to maintain high efficiency over a wide load current range. The power-down mode can be disabled, forcing the converter to switch at a fixed frequency.
