The TPS6103x device provides power solutions that support products whether single-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer, or two- to three-cell alkaline, NiCd or NiMH batteries. The converter generates a regulated output voltage, either by adjusting an external resistor divider or fixed inside the chip. It provides efficient power conversion and can provide output current up to 1 A 5 V for implementation with supply voltages as low as 1.8 V, and the boost converter is based on a fixed-frequency, pulse-width modulated (PWM) controller using synchronous rectifiers for maximum benefit. The low-load current converter enters power-down mode to maintain high efficiency over a wide load current range.
