The TPS61070 regulates a 600mA switching 90% efficiency PFM/PWM boost converter

The TPS6107x device provides a power solution for products powered by a single-cell, two- or three-cell alkaline, nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride battery, or a single-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery. The output current can be as high as 75 mA while using a single alkaline battery and releasing it to 0.9 five, it can also be used to generate 200 3.3 V voltage or a lithium-ion battery mA for use with 5 volts. The boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller using a synchronous rectifier for maximum benefit. The TPS61070 and TPS61073 enter power-down mode at low load currents to maintain high efficiency over a wide load current range. The TPS61071 and TPS61072 are disabled in power-down mode, forcing the converter to operate at a fixed switching frequency.
