The TPS6107x device provides a power solution for products powered by a single-cell, two-cell, or three-cell alkaline, nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride battery, or a single-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery. The output current can be as high as 75 mA, while using a single alkaline battery and releasing it to 0.9 V, it can also be used to generate 200 3.3 V or lithium-ion batteries for 5 volt use. The boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, pulse width modulation (PWM) controller that uses a synchronous rectifier for maximum benefit. Enter power-saving mode at low load current TPS61070 and TPS61073 to maintain high efficiency over a wide load current range. Disabling TPS61071 and TPS61072 in power-saving mode forces the converter to operate at a fixed switching frequency.
