TPS61097 offers power solutions for products powered by one single-cell, two-cell, or three-cell alkaline battery, nickel-cadmium, nickel-metal hydride, or a single lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery. They can also be used in the processing of fuel cell or solar cell-powered devices where low input voltage capability is essential. The possible output current depends on the ratio of the input to output voltage. These devices provide output currents up to 100 mA at 3.3 - V output while using a single lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery. The boost converter is based on a current mode and uses a synchronous rectifier controller for maximum efficiency. The maximum average input current is limited to a value of 350 mA. The output voltage can be externally programmed through an external resistor divider or fixed inside the chip.
