TPS61175 3A high-voltage boost converter with soft start and programmable switching frequency

This TPS61175 is an integrated 3-A, 40 V power switch monochip regulator. It can be configured with several standard switching regulator topologies, including boost, SEPIC, and flyback. This device features a wide input voltage range to support applications of 5 V and 12 V power rails with multiple cells or regulators.

This TPS61175 current mode adjusts PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to control the output voltage. The PWM switching frequency can be derived from an external resistor or an external clock signal. Users can switch from 200 kHz to a frequency of 2.2 MHz.

This device features programmable soft start to limit surge current during startup, and includes other built-in protection features such as pulse chase current limiting and thermal shutdown pulses.
