The TPS63011 features a 2A switched high efficiency, single inductor, buck boost converter

The TPS6301x device provides a power solution powered by a two- or three-cell alkaline, nickel-cadmium or nickel-metal hydride battery, or a single-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery. Output currents can be as high as 1200 mA while using a single-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery and releasing it to 2.5 volts or less. The buck-boost converter is based on a fixed frequency, and the pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller uses synchronous rectification for maximum benefit. At low load currents, the converter enters power-down mode to maintain high efficiency over a wide range of load currents. The power-down mode can be disabled, forcing the converter to switch at a fixed frequency. The maximum average switching current is limited to a typical value of 2200 mA.
