The TPS63700 is an inverting DC-DC converter that produces a negative output voltage reduction with an output current of -15 V to 360 mA, depending on the ratio of the input voltage to the output voltage. With a total efficiency of up to 84%, this device is ideal for portable, battery-powered devices. For 2.7 V input voltage range of 5.5 - V allowable TPS63700 can be directly supplied, the lithium-ion battery is 3 NiMH/Nicadmium batteries with 3.3 V or 5 V power rails. The TPS63700 is available in a small 3 mm × 3 mm SON - 10 package. In addition, the high switching frequency allows for small external components, typically 1.4 MHz. This and small packages enable low-power power solutions.

The inverter works with a fixed frequency PWM control topology.
