The asynchronous TPS6420x buck is ideal for systems or applications powered from a 5 V or 3.3 V bus, or from 1 unit to 2 lithium-ion batteries – up to 4 NiCd, NiMH, or alkaline batteries. These buck controllers drive an external P-channel MOSFET for design flexibility. To achieve the highest efficiency over a wide load current range, the controller uses a minimum time, minimum shutdown time control scheme that consumes only 20μA quiescent current. The typical 600 nanosecond (TPS64203) minimum time allows the use of small inductors and capacitors. When disabled, current consumption drops to less than 1μA. The TPS6420x is available in a 6-pin SOT23 flat (dBV) package and operates from a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C in a free air
