Description/Ordering Information

The TRS3237E consists of five line drivers, a three-wire receiver, and a dual charge pump with ± 15-kV ESD protection PIN-to-PIN (Serial Port Connection Pin, Including Ground) circuit. The device meets the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-F and provides an electrical interface between the asynchronous communication controller and the serial port connector. The charge pump and four small external capacitors allow for operation from a single 3-V to a 5.5 V supply. The device operates at a data signal rate of 250 kbit/s mode in normal operation (MBd = GND) and 1 Mbit/s MBd = V CC. The driver output slew rate is 30 V/μs maximum.

When the transmitter is disabled TRS3237E and the output is forced into a high-impedance state, the device is reduced to less than 1μA in shutdown mode (SHDN = GND and supply current). In addition, the built-in charge pump is disabled during shutdown; For V+ to be lowered to V, CC and V- is GND. The receiver output can also be placed in a high impedance state, by setting the EN high. ROUT1B is still valid for all times, regardless of SHDN conditions.
