Description/Ordering Information

The TRSF3223E consists of two line drivers, a two-wire receiver and a dual charge pump with ± 15-kV ESD protection PIN-to-PIN (serial port connection pin, including ground) circuitry. This device meets the requirements of TIA/EIA-232-F and provides an electrical interface between the asynchronous communication controller and the serial port connector. A charge pump and four small external capacitors allow operation from a single 3 V supply to 5.5 V. The TRSF3223E rate of the operating signal is up to 1000 kbit/s typical data

When the flexible control option for power management, the serial port is not valid. The automatic power saving function functions when FORCEON is low,FORCEOFFHigh. In this mode of operation, the driver output is disabled if the device does not give a valid RS-232 signal. IfFORCEOFFSet low, EN is high, both drivers and receivers are turned off, and the supply current is reduced to 1 mA. Disconnecting or closing the peripheral drive of the serial port causes automatic power off to occur. FORCEON CAN BE DISABLED AND WHEN AUTOMATIC POWER OFF IS POSSIBLEFORCEOFFVery high.
