A programmable light-to-frequency converter combines a configurable silicon photodiode with a current-frequency converter and a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit

Overview:
TSL230RD programmable light-to-frequency converter combined with a configurable silicon photodiode current-frequency converter and a monolithic CMOS integrated circuit. The output can be a pulse sequence or a square wave (50% duty cycle) with light intensity proportional to the frequency. The sensitivity of the device is selectable in three ranges, providing a full scale output frequency that can be scaled with four presets. All inputs and outputs are TTL compatible, allowing direct bidirectional communication with microcontroller programming and output interfaces. Output Enable (OE) is where a microcontroller input line shared by multiple units is output in a high-impedance state.
