Ambient Light Sensor (ALS)
Overview:
The TSL2561 is an optical-to-digital converter that converts the intensity of light to a digital signal output capable of direct I2C (TSL2561) interface. Each device integrates a broadband photodiode (visible plus infrared) and an infrared response, and a single CMOS integrated circuit can provide an effective photodiode with a photopic response near 20-bit dynamic range (16-bit resolution). Two integrated ADCs convert to digital outputs that represent the current of the radiometric photodiode on each channel. This digital output can be input to a microprocessor to approximate the human eye response using an empirical formula for lux illuminance (ambient light level). The TSL2561 device that supports traditional horizontal style interrupts remains valid until the firmware clears it. Product Features:
