Overview:
TSL2771 devices in the home offer ambient light sensors (ALS) and proximity detection (when infrared lamps are coupled with external lights). The light intensity of ALS is close to that of the human eye in response to various lighting conditions through various attenuation materials. The proximity detection feature allows large operations using dark glass such as mobile phones or longer distance measurement applications such as monitors or laptops with a dynamic range of short distance detection behind the presence detection. Programmable proximity detection enables continuous measurement over the entire range. In addition, the internal state machine provides a low-power mode in ALS and proximity measurements, providing the ability to input the device between very low average power consumption.
