TW9912 is a low-power NTSC/PAL/SECAM video decoder chip that also supports analog component video input. The video decoder decodes baseband analog CVBS or S-video signals to digital 8-bit 4:2:2 YCbCr format. Analog component video digitization to 8-bit YCbCr format. The digital output supports the standard BT.656 format for interlaced video. It can also output progressive BT.656 format when receiving a progressive component input or converting interlaced video to progressive format via the internal deinterlacing engine. The TW9912 adopts analog and digital I/O power supplies, 3.3V supply voltage and 1.8V. A single 27MHz crystal is required to decode all analog video standards. The chip includes an analog front-end input source selection, variable gain amplifier, analog-to-digital converter, a Y/C split circuit, multi-standard color decoders (BGHI PAL, PAL M, PAL printing, print combination PAL, NTSC M, NTSC 4.43 and SECAM), and synchronous circuitry. Complete high-quality adaptive 4H comb filter Y/C separation to reduce cross-color and cross-brightness. Advanced synchronous processing circuitry can produce stable pictures, non-standard and weak signals. The decoder's output wire locks its input. The TW9912 also includes circuitry to detect and process signals at vertical blanking intervals (VBI), including closed headers and WSS.
