The family of PWM controllers UC1841 has been designed to increase, but retain the versatility of the performance level of all the functional devices of the earlier UC1840. While there are still flyback converters on the primary side that are in short supply chain to be advanced or operationally optimized, the UC1841 is also adept at implementing low and high voltage input DC-to-DC converters. Important performance features include a low-current start-up circuit, linear feedback constant voltage second operation, and advance with voltage or current mode topological exponential.

In addition to boot and normal PWM regulation, these devices include built-in over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current fault condition protection, and any latching or auto-restart options.
