Product Introduction

The control IC UC1846/7 family provides all the necessary functions to implement a fixed frequency, current-mode control scheme while maintaining a minimum number of external components. The superior performance of this technology improves line tuning, enhances load response characteristics, and makes it simpler and easier to control loop design. The inherent advantages of the topology include pulse through pulse current limiting functions, auto-correcting symmetrical push-pull converters, and "power modules" that can be parallelized while maintaining the current equal sharing.

The protection circuitry includes built-in undervoltage lockout and programmable current limiting except for soft-start function. A shutdown function is also available, which can be started or has an automatic full power off power restart or latch shutdown.
