The UC1854 provides an active power supply system that would otherwise be brought up for non-sinusoidal current factor correction for the sine power line. The unit implements all the necessary control functions to establish a power supply that optimally utilizes the existing power line current while minimizing line current distortion. To do this, the UC1854 contains a voltage amplifier, analog multiplier/divider, current amplifier, and fixed-frequency PWM. In addition, the UC1854 includes a power MOSFET gate driver compatible, 7.5V reference line estimator, load comparator, low power detector, and overcurrent comparator.

The UC1854 adopts an average current control mode to achieve stable and low-distortion current control at a fixed frequency.
