The UC1524A family of regulated PWM integrated circuits has been designed to retain the same highly versatile industry (SG1524) as the standard UC1524 architecture, while providing many significant improvements to its limitations. The UC1524A pins are compatible with "non-A" mode, which in most existing applications can be directly interchangeable with power supply performance without impact. Using the UC1524A, however, frees up many problems from designers who typically require additional circuitry.

The UC1524A includes an accurate 5V reference voltage trimmed to ± 1% accuracy, eliminating the need for potentiometer adjustment, and a 5V input range that includes an error amplifier, thus eliminating the need for a reference divider; The current-sense amplifier is useful either at ground or on the power output line; and a 60V pair, 200 mA unsubmitted transistor switch that greatly improves the versatility of the output.
