The family of PWM controllers UC1841 has been designed to increase the versatility of all functional devices of the earlier UC1840, but retain all the functional devices. While there are still forward-to-pilot or operational optimizations for pilot-side flyback power converters that are in short supply of efficient guidance, the UC1841 is equally adept at implementing low and high voltage input DC-DC converters. Important performance characteristics include a low current start-up circuit, linear feedback constant voltage second surgery, and exponential advances with voltage or current mode topologies.
In addition to start-up and normal regulation PWM functions, these devices include built-in protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, and overcurrent fault conditions, as well as any latch-off or auto-restart options.
