The UC3856 is a high-performance version of the popular UC3846 current mode controller series and is important for designing new applications for upgrades and intends to improve speed and accuracy. All input/output delays have been minimized, and current-sense output slew rate limits are used to reduce noise sensitivity. A fast 1.5A peak output stage has been added to allow fast switching of power FETs.

The low-impedance TTL-compatible synchronous output is used as a synchronous input when the three-state function is implemented.

The grounding of the internal chip has been improved to reduce the large capacitive load caused by the internal x93noise x94 while driving. This is the result of an improved differential current-sense amplifier for enhanced noise immunity.
