The IC-1868 series of UC1861 is best suited for the control of zero-current switching and zero-voltage switching quasi-resonant converters. This differs from UVLO's threshold and output selection to the members of the various combinations of device family results. In addition, a single-pulse steering logic configuration scheme is configured for either zero-current systems at the time (UC1865-1868) or zero-voltage switching applications at off-time (UC1861-1864).

The main control module implementation consists of an error amplifier to compensate for the entire system cycle, driving a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) with programmable minimum and maximum frequencies. Triggered by the VCO, the maximum width of one program is generated at a time, and zero-modulated pulses can be compared by detection.
