shouldUCC27221andUCC27222The high speed output synchronous buck drive voltage is designed for today's high efficiency and low efficiency. Using predictive gate drive ™ (PGD) control techniques, these drivers reduce the loss of conducted and reverse diodes in synchronous rectified MOSFET(s) recovery. There is an inverted UCC27221 PWM input, while the UCC27222 has a non-inverting PWM input.

Predictive gate drive ™ technology uses stable internal control and cycling and is therefore transparent to the user. These loops use no external components, so no additional design is needed to take advantage of these driver efficiencies.

This closed-loop feedback system detects body diode conduction and adjusts dead time delays, minimizing conduction intervals.
