UCC28070 is an advanced power factor correction device that integrates two pulse-width modulators (PWM) operating 180°. The input and output ripple currents generated during this interleaved PWM operation are drastically reduced, and EMI filtering becomes easier and cheaper to perform. A significantly improved multiplier design provides a common reference current to ensure that two independent two PWM outputs match the average current mode control current amplifier while maintaining a stable, low-distortion sinusoidal input current.
Includes current UCC28070 containing multiple innovations in synthesizing and quantizing voltage feed-forward to facilitate performance enhancements in PF, efficiency, total harmonic distortion, and transient response.
