Product Introduction

UCC28230, the UCC28231 PWM bus controller optimizes a high-efficiency, high-power-density, unregulated intermediate bus converter. Topologies include push-pull, half-bridge, and full-bridge. External drivers, so asthe UCC27200 120-V high-side/low-side drivers, can use the controller.

Low-cost, small-size, and high-efficiency solutions are provided by innovations such as:

Activation frequency control circuitry allows small output inductance changes and capacities to start large intermediate bus capacitors.
Load dependent shutdown time control is set by the user.

Other 1-D control outputs can be used for main winding self-driving synchronous rectification outputs, applied clamping, or as a control drive synchronous rectification drive signal.

Two 0.2 push-pull outputs provide a three-dimensional external drive with a coordinating control signal
Two self-driven synchronous rectifiers with additional 1-D outputs for optimal use of drive or control
Unregulated, fixed volts, or fixed frequency is set by the user
Two, the overall accuracy is 1.5% reference voltage options: 5 in, UCC28230 and 3.3-V UCC28231
The resistor can be programmable for switching frequencies up to 1 MHz
Allow cycle-by-cycle current limits to be shared with drooping current-type parallel operation
Single external capacitor bank soft overcurrent hiccup mode parameters start and restart
Severe short-circuit hiccups with a choice of protective external resistors for reboot or latching
Input and output undervoltage lockout
Thermal shutdown
Thermally enhanced 3 mm× 2 mm SON-12 and TSSOP-14 package options
