Product Introduction

The combined PFC/PWM controller UCC28510 series provides any off-line power required with IEC1000-3-2 harmonics to reduce the full control functionality of the system. By combining into a single device, significant performance and cost advantages of the PFC and PWM stages of control and drive signals are benefits. The ripple current is minimized at the boost capacitor through a mechanism that manages the two stages of modulation (for PFC-leading modulation and PWM modulation for trailing edge).

Based on the average current mode control architecture, the input voltage is pre-fed by the PFC/PWM combined controller, which these devices offer performance benefits. The two new main features are programmable PWM maximum duty cycle and the option of 2 PWM frequencies for base PFC.
