Product Introduction

The UCC2819/UCC3819 provides all the features necessary for the active power factor correction preconditioner. The controller realizes that by shaping the AC input current waveform, it corresponds to the AC input line voltage and the power factor is close. The average current mode control maintains a stable, low-distortion sinusoidal current.

Texas Instruments' BiCMOS process design UCC3819 offers new features such as low start-up current, reduced power consumption, overvoltage protection, undervoltage lockout detection circuitry, and paralleling a leading modulation technology to reduce ripple current for high-capacity capacitors.

This UCC3819 allows the output voltage to be programmed at the in-phase input of the amplifier with an error out.
