The XC6802 series is the most suitable IC for single-cell lithium-ion battery chargers for controlling a wide range of portable instruments. In recent years, the use of lithium-ion battery charging has been increasing as portable instruments have become more and more miniaturized and lightweight. In order to continuously improve the accuracy and efficiency of the charging current and charging voltage of lithium-ion batteries, we have developed an IC for controlling lithium-ion battery charging. The XC6802 series uses an external RSEN resistor that allows the charging current to be set arbitrarily (maximum charging current is 800mA), making it highly versatile for a wide range of charging requirements. In addition, overcurrent and overtemperature protection functions are built into the protection circuit. It is also equipped with a function to limit the inrush current to provide a safer and more stable charging current. Because the two series only provide one-tenth of the charging current to the battery during continuous charging, it has superior safety. The USP-6C (1.8×2.0×0.6mm) in a small package can not only ensure the superiority of heat dissipation characteristics, but also help save space in the design circuit.
