Product Introduction

The XTR106 is a low-cost, single-chip 4-20mA, two-wire current transmitter sensor designed bridge to the bridge. It provides a complete bridge excitation voltage (2.5V or 5V reference), instrumentation amplifier, sensor linearization, and current output circuitry. Supply current to the additional external input circuit from the VREG pin.

The instrumentation amplifier can be used over and over again with a wide gain range, accommodating input signal types and a variety of sensors. The total non-adjustment error of a complete current transmitter, including linearized bridges, is not low enough to allow for the use of tuning in many applications. The operating XTR106 circuit power supply voltage is as low as 7.5V.

The linearization circuit provides a second-order correction by controlling the bridge to excite the voltage transfer function.
