The TAS5182 device is a high-performance, stereo digital amplifier power stage controller. It is designed to drive two discrete bridged load (BTL) MOSFET output stages at up to 100 watts per channel6 。 The TAS5182 device, combined with TI's PurePath™ technology, uses a PWM digital audio processor (TAS50XX) and two discrete MOSFETs (4 H-bridge MOSFETs) to provide high-power, true digital audio amplification. This digital amplifier can be more than 95% efficient, reducing the size required for both power and heat sinks. The TAS5182's PWM device receives a stereo 3.3-V input, which controls a discrete H-bridge switch.

Overcurrent, overheat, and undervoltage protection is built into TAS5182 equipment, maintaining the H-bridge and shorting the output, overheating conditions, and other fault conditions that may damage the system speakers.
