The TAS5182 device is a high-performance, stereo digital amplifier power stage controller. It is designed to drive two discrete bridge-loaded (BTL) MOSFET output stages up to 100 watts per channel 6 。 The TAS5182 device, combined with TI's PurePath™ technology, works with a PWM digital audio processor (TAS50XX) and two discrete MOSFET H-bridges (4 H-bridge MOSFETs) to provide high-power, true digital audio amplification. The efficiency of this digital amplifier can be greater than 95%, reducing the size required for both the power supply and the heatsink. The TAS5182's PWM device receives a stereo 3.3-V input, which controls a discrete H-bridge switch.

Overcurrent, overtemperature, and undervoltage protection are built into TAS5182 equipment, maintaining H-bridges and short-circuit conditions on outputs, overheating conditions, and other fault conditions that can damage system speakers.
