description
TW8811 is a high-performance integrated LCD processor designed for navigation systems, in-vehicle display applications, sprinting, rear-seat/
Head-mounted monitors, DVD players, car TVs. The chip uses a single 27MHz crystal in a 208-pin LQFP package and automotive applications, including temperatures from -40°C to +85°C and qualification for 1000 hours of reliability testing. The TW8811 requires an external 64Mbit SDRAM to support picture-in-picture and other advanced features. Inputs include composite video, S-video input, YPbPr, analog RGB, 24-bit digital RGB, and 8/16/24-bit YCbCr. An additional 3D comb filter for composite video streams, high-quality NTSC and PAL 3D comb filters concurrent 3D denoise reduction and integration to reduce typical artifacts found in analog video signals. Proprietary image processing algorithms implement the TW8811 to improve image quality, including built-in low-angle compensation, black/white stretch, and color enhancement in the 2D interlacing engine. The TW8811 has an advanced picture-in-picture, picture-in-picture (PIP) picture, which includes picture with variable window size, picture multi-picture (POP), and multiple picture-in-picture. The TW8811 screen display, with a choice of 256 24-bit colors ($167,000 color), is an OSD with a variety of functions, including flashing, transparent, hybrid, support for multi-window graphic styles. The TW8811 also supports alpha hybrid control with external external 18-bit OSDs.
