Controlling the DC motor via pulse-width modulation (PWM), the A4950 is capable of delivering a peak output current of ±3.5 amps and operating at 40 volts.
It provides input terminals to control the speed and direction of the DC motor through an externally applied PWM control signal. An internal synchronous rectification control circuit reduces power consumption during pulse-width modulation (PWM) operation.
Internal circuit protection includes overcurrent protection, motor pin ground or power short, thermal shutdown with delay, VBB undervoltage monitoring, and cross-current protection.
The A4950 is available in an 8-pin SOICN small package (suffix LJ) with an exposed heatsink. The package is lead-free and the pin frame is 100% matte tin plated.
