The DAC-08 series of 8-bit single-chip digital-to-analog converters features extremely high-speed performance, low cost, and excellent application flexibility.
The state-of-the-art circuit design ensures an 85 ns settling time, extremely low "glitch" energy and low power consumption levels. Over a wide reference current range of 20 to 1, monotonic multiplication performance can be achieved. The matching accuracy between the reference current and the full-scale current is within 1 LSB, eliminating the need for full-scale adjustment in most applications. With the help of a high swing adjustable threshold logic input, all common logic family interfaces can be interfaced and a high degree of immunity can be achieved.
Provides a high-voltage compliant complementary current output that increases versatility and doubles the peak-to-peak output swing in differential operation. In many applications, the output can be converted directly to voltage without the need for an external op amp.
All models in the DAC08 series guarantee full 8-bit monotonicity and ±0.1% nonlinearity over the entire operating temperature range. The device is very stable from ± 4.5 V to ±18 V supply, achieving a power consumption level of 33 mW ± a 5 V supply.
The compact, low-power nature of the DAC08 makes it an excellent choice for portable applications and military/aerospace applications; Models are available to meet MIL-STD-883 Class B military standards.
Applications for the DAC08 include 8-bit 1 μs A/D converters, servo motors and USB flash drive drives, waveform generators, audio encoders and attenuators, analog meter drivers, programmable power supplies, CRT display drivers, trim modems, and other applications that require low cost, high speed, and comprehensive input/output capabilities.
