The ACS756SCA-100B-PFF-T is a fully integrated, Hall-effect-based linear current sensor IC with 3 kVRMS voltage isolation and low-resistance current conductors
The Allegro ACS756 current sensor IC family provides an affordable and accurate solution for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, automotive, commercial, and communication systems. The device is packaged for easy implementation. Typical applications include motor control, load detection and management, power supplies, and overcurrent protection.
The device consists of a precise, low-offset linear Hall sensor circuit with a copper current path close to the wafer. The current applied through this copper current path generates a magnetic field that can be sensed by the integrated Hall IC and converted into a proportional voltage. By bringing the magnetic signal closer to the Hall sensor, the device accuracy is optimized. Accurate, proportional voltages are provided by a stabilized chopper-type low-bias BiCMOS Hall IC that is factory-programmed for precision.
The output of the device has a positive slope (>VCC/2) when the current rises through the main copper conduction path (from terminal 4 to terminal 5) that is used as the current sensing pathway. The internal resistance of this conduction path is typically 130 μΩ, which has low power loss.
The size of the copper wire allows the device to operate under overcurrent conditions of up to 5×. The terminal end of the conduction path is electrically insulated from the sensor pins (pins 1 through 3). This allows the ACS756 sensor IC family to be used in applications where electrical isolation is required without the use of photoisolators or other expensive insulation technologies.
The device is fully calibrated prior to shipment. The ACS75x series is lead-free. All pins are 100% matte tin plated, and there is no lead present in the package. A large number of gauge pin frames are manufactured from oxygen-free copper.
