DAC-08 series 8-bit monochipDigital-to-analog convertersIt is characterized by extremely high-speed performance, low cost and excellent application flexibility.
Advanced circuit design ensures 85 ns settling time, extremely low "glitch" energy, and low power consumption levels. Over a wide reference current range of 20 to 1, monotonic multiplication performance can be achieved. The matching accuracy between the reference current and the full-scale current is within 1 LSB, eliminating the need for full-scale adjustment in most applications. With the high swing adjustable threshold logic input, all common logic series interfaces can be interfaced and high noise immunity can be achieved.
Provides a high-voltage compliant complementary current output for added versatility and doubles the peak-to-peak output swing in differential operation. In many applications, the output can be converted directly to voltage without the need for an external op amp.
All models of the DAC08 family guarantee full 8-bit monotonicity and achieve ±0.1% nonlinearity over the full operating temperature range. The performance of the device is very stable over a supply range of ±4.5 V to ±18 V, achieving a power consumption level of 33 mW at ± 5 V.
The compact, low-power features make the DAC08 an excellent choice for portable applications and military/aerospace applications; Models are available that meet the MIL-STD-883 Class B military standard.
Applications for the DAC08 include 8-bit, 1 μs A/D converters, servo motors and USB drives, waveform generators, audio encoders and attenuators, analog meter drivers, programmable power supplies, CRT display drivers, trim modems, and other applications that require low-cost, high-speed, and comprehensive input/output capabilities.
