DS1342U The DS1341/DS1342 low-current real-time clocks (RTCs) are chronograph devices with very low standby current for longer lifetime on battery operation The DS1341/DS1342 low-current real-time clocks (RTCs) are chronograph devices with very low standby current for longer lifetime on battery power. The DS1341/DS1342 support high ESR crystals, extending the device's crystal selection. The DS1341 uses a 6pF crystal and the DS1342 uses a 12.5pF crystal. Both devices are accessible through the I²C serial interface. Other features include two timed alarms, two interrupt outputs, programmable square wave outputs, and a serial bus timeout mechanism.
The clock/calendar section provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information. For months with fewer than 31 days, the date can be automatically adjusted at the end of the month, including leap year corrections. The clock section operates on a 24-hour format or a 12-hour format with AM/PM indication.
The DS1341/DS1342 also include a synchronous input. When a reference clock (such as a 60Hz power line or GPS 1PPS clock) is loaded on the CLKIN pin and the external clock enable input bit (ECLK) is set to 1, the DS1341/DS1342 RTCs lock the clock frequency to an external clock, and the clock accuracy is determined by the external clock source. When an external clock fails, the clock switches to the crystal.
The device is available in a lead-free (Pb)/RoHS-compliant 8-pin μSOP package or TDFN package. The device supports the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.//www.chip100.com/
