description
™The LT 1039 is a triple RS232 driver/receiver including shutdown. Each receiver will accept up to ± 30V input and can drive TTL or CMOS logic. RS232 drivers accept TTL logic input and output voltage ratings of RS232. The output is fully protected against overload and can be shorted to the ground or up to ± 30V without harming the driver. Additionally, when the system is turned off or the power is turned off, the output is in a high-impedance state, allowing data line sharing. The bipolar circuitry makes this driver/receiver exceptionally robust, resistant to overloads and immune latching capabilities.
The bias pin allows one receiver to be on while the rest is off.
The LT1039 is a 16-pin version and can also be pinned out without shutdown or BIAS pin.
For applications that require operation from a single 5V supply, refer to the LT1080/LT1081, LT1180A/LT1181A, and LT1130A datasheets. For applications requiring 15kV ESD protection, see LT1039A.
