UCC27524DGN Description
The UCC2752x family is a dual-channel, high-speed, low-side gate driver that efficiently drives MOSFETs and insulated gate power tube (IGBT) power switches. Using a design that greatly reduces breakdown current from within, the UCC2752x is capable of delivering high peak current pulses of up to 5-A source current and 5-A absorb current to capacitive loads, as well as rail-to-rail drive capability and minimal propagation delay of 13 ns typical. In addition, the driver has a matching internal propagation delay between the two channels, making it ideal for applications such as synchronous rectifiers where the timing requirements for dual-gate drives are strict. This also allows the two channels to be connected in parallel to effectively increase current driving capability or to drive two switches connected together in parallel using a single input signal. The input pin threshold is based on TTL and CMOS compatible low-voltage logic, which is fixed and independent of the VDD supply voltage. The wide hysteresis between high and low thresholds provides excellent noise immunity.
Description
The UCC2752x family offers a combination of three standard logic options – dual inverting, dual non-inverting, one-way inverting, and one-way non-inverting. UCC27526 feature a dual-input design that provides flexibility in both inverting (IN-pin) and non-inverting (IN+ pin) configurations for each channel. Either of the IN+ and IN- pins can be used to control the state of this drive's output. Unused input pins can be used to enable and disable functions. For safety reasons, to ensure that the output remains low when the input pin is in suspension conditions, both the UCC2752x series has internal pull-up and pull-down resistors mounted on the input pins. For better control over the operation of the driver application, UCC27323, UCC27324 and UCC27325 each have a specific enable pin (ENA and ENB). For high-level active logic, these pins are internally pulled up to the VDD and can be continuously opened for standard operation.
The UCC2752x family of devices are available in SOIC-8 (D), MSOP-8, and 3-mm x 3-mm WSON-8 packages with exposed thermal insulation pads (DGN), and exposed thermal insulation pads (DSDs). UCC27524 is also available in a PDIP-8 (P) package. For UCC27526, only a 3-mm x 3-mm WSON (DSD) package is available.
