The AD5624R/AD5644R/AD5664R are all part of the nanoDAC® family, which are low-power, quad-channel, 12-/14-/16-bit buffered voltage-output digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and are designed to be monotonic.
AD5624R/AD5644R/AD5664R each have an on-chip reference. The AD56x4R-3 contains a 1.25 V, 5 ppm/°C voltage reference with a full-scale output range of 2.5 V; The AD56x4R-5 contains a 2.5 V, 5 ppm/°C voltage reference with a full-scale output range of 5 V. On power-up, the on-chip reference is turned off, allowing an external reference to be used. All devices can operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. The internal reference is enabled via software write.
The device includes a power-on reset circuit that ensures that the DAC outputs 0 V after power-up and remains at that level until a valid write operation is performed. In addition, it features a channel-independent shutdown feature that reduces power consumption to 480 nA at 5 V in shutdown mode and a software-selectable output load. In normal operating mode, the device features low power consumption, making it ideal for portable battery-powered devices.
The AD5624R/AD5644R/AD5664R feature a versatile 3-wire serial interface capable of operating at clock rates up to 50 MHz and are compatible with standard SPI, QSPI™, MICROWIRE™, and DSP interface standards. It has a built-in on-chip precision output amplifier that enables rail-to-rail output swings.
