The AD7228A contains eight 8-bit voltage modesDigital-to-analog converters, with an output buffer amplifier and interface logic integrated on a single chip. No external adjustments are required to achieve the full rated performance of the device.
Each of the eight digital-to-analog converters has its own on-chip latch. Data is transferred to the data latch through a common 8-bit TTL/CMOS (5V) compatible input port. When WR goes low, address inputs A0, A1, and A2 determine which latch the data is loaded into. The control logic is speed compatible with most 8-bit microprocessors.
Dual supplies with an input reference voltage of +2 V to +10 V guarantee the specified performance. The device can also operate from a single +15V supply, +10V reference, or a single +5V supply, +1.23V reference. Each output buffer amplifier is capable of generating a +10 V into a 2 k(Ohm) load.
The AD7228A is fabricated using a full ion implantation high speed linear compatible CMOS (LC2MOS) process, a process developed to integrate high speed digital logic with precision analog circuitry on the same chip.
