ADP1710Both /ADP1711
Low dropout linear regulatoroperates from a 2.5 V to 5.5 V supply with a maximum output current of 150 mA. These devices feature a novel scaling architecture and draw very low ground current (40 μA) when driving a 100 μA load, making them ideal for battery-powered portable devices.
Both the ADP1710 and ADP1711 offer 16 fixed output voltage options. The ADP1710 is also available in adjustable versions that allow the output voltage to be adjusted from 0.8 V to 5 V with an external voltage divider. The ADP1711 can be connected to a reference bypass capacitor to reduce output voltage noise and improve power supply rejection.
The ADP1710/ADP1711 are optimized for stable operation with a small 1 μF ceramic output capacitor while providing good transient performance in a minimal board footprint. The enable pin controls the output voltage of both devices. It also has an undervoltage lockout circuit; If the input drops below the minimum threshold, the latch-off circuit disables the regulator.
The typical start-up time for internal soft-start is 80 μs. Short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection circuitry prevent damage under adverse conditions. Both the ADP1710 and ADP1711 are available in a small 5-lead TSOT package, making them the industry's smallest footprint solution for power applications.
